Welcome To Range Elementary!

Range Elementary was dedicated on Sunday, March 3, 1963 and was named for Mr. I.N. Range who lived from 1855-1931. Issac Newton Range was born on March 3, 1855 in Jonesboro, Tennessee. He arrived in Texas in 1876 at the age of 21. He worked as a farm laborer until he was able to purchase a farm of his own. One of the farms he worked on was located very near the present site of Range Elementary School

Mr. Range was very active in the business and political life of Mesquite. He also served as a member of the Mesquite School Board for several years and was responsible for the first school built in the Oates Community on Barnes Bridge Road. In 2015, construction began on a new school building for Range Elementary. August 22, 2016, was the opening day of school for the new I.N. Range Elementary which is located at 4060 Emerald. The new school building is located directly behind what was the old school.
